Five Salemtowne basketmakers won awards at the recent Dixie Classic Fair. A total of thirteen ribbons were awarded by judges for the superior quality and beauty of their creations.

esidents and associates of Salemtowne have been busy over the last six weeks lending a hand to raise funds for the American Heart Association. Salemtowne has currently exceeded their goal of $3,500 by raising a total of $3,700. Mark your calendars for Saturday, October 16 for the Tanglewood Heart and Stroke Walk. Activities begin at 8am and the walk steps off at 9am.

Salemtowne is very excited to sponsor Frank Deford for the 2010 BOOKMARKs Festival of Books. Deford will be featured at the “Speak Easy” at the Millennium Center on Saturday, Sept. 11 at Noon. Deford is a senior contributing writer for Sports Illustrated and commentator for National Public Radio. He is the author of sixteen books.

Residents and guests were treated to the delightfully smooth sounds of Martha Bassett and Pat Lawrence this past Sunday afternoon.
