Winston-Salem named best place to retire

Being a native of Winston-Salem I have always thought this was a great town. In the last 10 years, it has been exciting to be a part of the growth of the city. Just to name a few of the fun things I have done just this year using 4 of my 5 senses… I have been able to “gallery hop” on Trade Street on the first Friday of the month to see some great art. I was able to hear a great panel discussion about turning books to film and screenplay writing with Michael Connelly and our own great Angus MacLachlan at the joint event with the River Run Festival and BOOKMARKS. I was able to smell some sugar bread in the making at the Moravian Festival and I am always able to taste some great food in many of our local restaurants. Recently, I savored some turkey from Bibs Downtown – named one of the best places to get BBQ.

In my line of work, helping people sort through the maze of multiple options for retirement living, I have always passed along to my out of town visitors they couldn’t pick a better place to retire. I just found out that a few other people agree with me. The WS Journal stated that CNNMoney.com confirmed that Winston-Salem is a fine place to retire. In the article Richard Gottlieb, President of Senior Services, noted that there are wonderful continuing care retirement communities in Winston-Salem.

I am proud that my town made the list and glad that I work at a wonderful Continuing Care Retirement Community. Follow the link and read the WS Journal Article. And if you are thinking about retiring, need to be educated about all the great benefits of a continuing care retirement community, or just would like to see Salemtowne then I invite you to visit me. You can then see how Salemtowne is a shining example of the way life should be.
