The Babcock Health Care Center (Long-term Skilled Nursing)
Our skilled nursing team at Salemtowne expertly cares for our residents while enhancing their quality of life.
The Babcock Health Care Center consists of three unique households designed around a central courtyard. Each household features a sunroom, a large living room, and a dining area. Each private resident room has a private bathroom with shower and a lush courtyard or beautiful campus view.
In addition to enjoying beautiful indoor common spaces and neighborhood patios where they can enjoy the outdoors, our residents benefit from a person-centered approach to their care.
You won't find the traditional medical model with a highly regimented schedule of activities. Salemtowne's Babcock Health Care Center has adopted the "household model" best practice where residents direct their schedules with help from a personal service team.

Short-term Transitional Rehabilitation
Our transitional rehabilitation center specializes in short length of stay after surgery or other illness and focuses on patients returning to their home as quickly as possible. We strive to ensure that each aspect of our patient's care exceeds their expectations resulting in a positive patient experience.
Physical and occupational therapists and speech-language pathologists provide highly personalized care enabling a quicker recovery. Our transitional rehabilitation program offers 7-days a week rehabilitation services.
Recover in luxury in our large well-appointed private rooms, which allow privacy and comfort during your stay. Rooms include a recliner for relaxing, table for two if you choose to dine in your room, and a private bath.

How often will I receive therapy services?
You will be evaluated by all disciplines from therapy, including speech, occupational and physical. Your treatment goals will then be established and communicated to you on how often you will receive services.

Does Salemtowne offer rehabilitation services seven days a week?
Yes. However, your plan of care will determine the number of days you will receive services.

Do I bring my medications from home?
No. Salemtowne will provide all medications ordered by your surgeon.

How will my pain be managed?
Upon arrival to Salemtowne, you will come with medication orders from your surgeon, and our in-house physician will work with you to best establish a plan to help you with pain management. We strive to anticipate your needs and encourage you to communicate them.

What are the visiting hours?
Visiting hours are from 7:30 am—10:00 pm.

Are there multiple meal choices?
Yes. There is also an always available menu offered 24 hours a day, and in-room dining is allowed.

I spent almost a month in Temporary Rehab at Salemtowne after a fall and pelvic fracture. Although all the staff members were wonderful, I remember especially the physical therapists who got me back on my feet and showed me some exercises I still use today.
