Walk your way to wellness with dedicated campus trails.
Your daily step goal is well within reach, thanks to our campus walking trails. Many community members enjoy hiking on 3 miles of well-maintained trails that take you through the beauty of our wooded campus. Salemtowne’s longest trail is the 1.2 mile Muir Trail, named after the explorer John Muir. The first trail constructed on the property is the popular Buckalew Trail, a scenic, accessible short trail. Residents established these trails, and an informal yet dedicated group has continued maintenance. One resident has developed a website resource providing helpful information on the trails. All fitness levels agree that spending time outdoors on these trails is good for the body and mind.
