Skilled Nursing

The Babcock Health Care Center (Long-term Skilled Nursing)

Our skilled nursing team at Salemtowne expertly cares for our residents while enhancing their quality of life.

The Babcock Health Care Center consists of three unique households designed around a central courtyard. Each household features a sunroom, a large living room, and a dining area. Each private resident room has a private bathroom with shower and a lush courtyard or beautiful campus view.

In addition to enjoying beautiful indoor common spaces and neighborhood patios where they can enjoy the outdoors, our residents benefit from a person-centered approach to their care.

You won't find the traditional medical model with a highly regimented schedule of activities. Salemtowne's Babcock Health Care Center has adopted the "household model" best practice where residents direct their schedules with help from a personal service team.

Music & MemorySM Program

Finding new meaning and renewed connection through the gift of music

The Hill MUSIC & MEMORY℠ program at Salemtowne enriches the lives of residents who have a wide range of cognitive and physical challenges through the gift of therapeutic music. Activities staff and volunteers create personalized music playlists that allow our residents to use digital devices to engage with the world through music-triggered memories.

Favorite music often calms chaotic brain activity and enables the listener to focus on the present moment and find renewed meaning and connection in their lives.

Founded in 2006, MUSIC & MEMORY℠ is a non-profit organization grounded in neuroscience research with consistent results showing improved quality of life for residents.

Hear From Our Residents on Health Services

Whether you are a short-term rehab patient or a long-term resident, you will be treated with care, compassion, dignity and respect at Salemtowne. Hear from those who have received health services from Salemtowne reflect on their experience with us.

I spent almost a month in Temporary Rehab at Salemtowne after a fall and pelvic fracture. Although all the staff members were wonderful, I remember especially the physical therapists who got me back on my feet and showed me some exercises I still use today. They also laughed at my jokes; and as we know, laughter is an important medicine!

My wife unexpectedly needed inpatient rehab care after back surgery at Baptist Hospital. After learning that Salemtowne's rehab center was an option for her, we were carefully and efficiently guided through the process to get her there and it was the best case we could have imagined (or not imagined!) to get her on the road to recovery. She was a patient there for 10 days and everyone in the facility treated us like they would treat a member of their own families. The administrative and nursing staff members were top notch and the therapy team was better than we could have thought possible.

The facilities are state-of-the-art, thoughtfully designed and made the time there as comfortable as possible. The quality of the food was excellent and the choices were plentiful. The best part? Our 8-year-old yellow lab, Penny, was able to spend a majority of time in the room with her. The therapeutic benefit of this alone made Salemtowne stand out to us and all who visited us there. Her time at Salemtowne has undoubtedly set her up for the best possible long term outcome post-surgery. We would recommend Salemtowne to anyone and are so lucky to have such a wonderful center right here in our hometown.

The staff in Assisted Living takes such good care of me. I want to continue to do what I can for myself, but they are always there for me when I need them. I am very happy here.

Jane R.
Assisted Living resident

After knee surgery and three days in the hospital, Salemtowne had a van waiting to pick me up. I could not believe how well the staff, nurses and assistants, took care of me. I’m very appreciative for the care I was given.
